Hi, I’m Nick.
I’m a nutrition and fitness coach, and I’ve just hit the big 5-0. More importantly, I’m someone who had to learn the hard way what it actually takes to build a body that lasts. I’m not here to sugarcoat things or offer empty motivation.
Everything I teach comes from real experience, real mistakes, and real transformation.
Back in 2016, I thought I had it all handled. I was 42, running a freelance graphic design business, coaching CrossFit classes most days, and raising a young family. On the surface, I looked fit, active, and in control. But behind the scenes, I was running on caffeine, stress, no sleep, and a pretty average diet. I told myself I was fine.
Then one day, everything changed.
After coaching a class, I had a full-blown seizure out of nowhere. I was rushed to hospital and told it could be a brain tumour. A few days later, I underwent a six-hour brain surgery to remove a cavernoma, a cluster of blood vessels in my brain that had been bleeding. Just like that, life hit pause.
Recovery was brutal. I dealt with memory loss, balance issues, depression from medication, and a complete loss of confidence. My body felt out of control. And for the first time, I had to face the truth, I wasn’t as healthy as I thought I was. I had been overtraining, under-recovering, under-fuelling, and living in a constant state of stress. I wasn’t building a body that would last. I was slowly breaking it down.
Then in 2018, I had another seizure, this time while driving. That was my second wake-up call. At that point, I had a choice, keep going the same way, or completely change how I approached my health and my life.
That’s when everything shifted. I stopped chasing intensity and started focusing on sustainability. I cleaned up my nutrition, trained with purpose, prioritised recovery and sleep, reduced stress, and started learning what the body actually needs, especially after 40. I stopped trying to push harder and started building smarter.
Today, I’m 50, stronger, fitter, and healthier than I was in my 20s and 30s. But more importantly, I understand what it actually takes to build a body that lasts, not just one that looks good temporarily, but one that supports your life long-term.
That experience is what led me to create The Thrive Collective. I work with men and women over 40 who are busy, frustrated, and feel like their body is starting to work against them. I get it, because I’ve been there too. Now I help people rebuild strength, improve their nutrition, restore their energy, and create a body that actually supports the life they want to live.
Everything I do is built around the Thrive Protocol.
- Functional strength to build a capable body.
- Metabolic fueling to support energy and muscle.
- Recovery and longevity to ensure your body can perform and adapt. - And the Thrive mindset to create habits that actually stick.
This isn’t about quick fixes, it’s about building something sustainable for the next 20 to 30 years.
I also recently wrote my first book, “Let’s F*cking Thrive.” I didn’t write it to add to the noise. I wrote it because there’s too much fluff and not enough real guidance. It’s about cutting through the bs, taking ownership, and building a life where you feel strong, energised, and in control.
You don’t need a near-death experience to wake up. But at some point, something has to change. Because your body will either force you to slow down, or reward you for doing the right things.
If you’re ready to take control of your health, rebuild your strength, and create a body that actually thrives after 40, let’s have a conversation.

"I believe we are all meant to be strong.
For me, strength is a responsibility, a deliberate choice, and our absolute standard. It’s not about chasing a flawless appearance, but about building the deep resilience and discipline you need for life. I'm here to show you that choosing strength empowers you to build a body that functions beautifully and a mind ready for any challenge."
